A man with wide knowledge KSL Swamee (Ravee) departs is undoubtedly a great loss to Kannada cinema industry. Swamee safeguarded his wife BV Radha from ill health and completed his journey on earth. Swamee was admitted to hospital for breathing trouble and at the edge of ‘Saraswathi Pooja’ day this ‘Saraswathi Putra’ passed away at his residence at 76.


Like late Lokesh veteran of Kannada cinema the body of KSL Swamee will be donated to MS Ramaiah Hospital for medical purposes. Swamee turned useful even in his death. A big salute to the legendary actor, director


Kikkeri Shamanna Lakshmi Narasimha Swamee, Ravee as popularly known was born on 1939, February 21. He was interested in acting in college days. He made debut in a small role in ‘Rathnamanjari’.


As assistant director Swamee began his career in ‘Thaayi Karulu’. From Toogudeepa he turned independent director. This is the debut film for challenging star Darshan father Toogudeepa Srinivas.

Lagna Patrike (that made Dr Srinath Hero) Bhale Adrushtavo Adrushta, Aaru Mooru Ombaththu, Srikrishna Rukmini Sathyabhama, Bhagyajothi, Magiya Kanasu, Malaya Marutha and others comes to nearly forty films. Shuba Mangala, Jamboo Savari, Mithiliyea Seetheyaru, Harakeya Kuri etc are 13 films he produced.


Some of his films received state, national and international acclaim. 94-95 year SR Puttanna Kanagal award was bestowed on him.

He is also wonderful singer, authority in Sanskrit and TV actor too. The film unfinished of KS Swamee 'Prabodha Chandrodayam' in Sanskrit based on the 11th century work of 'Krishnayathi-Mishra' play. This is a film in Sanskrit taken up at accost of Rs. 100 lakhs for 100 minutes duration.
